After Low cost now comes regional airlines in India

regional airlines are those which fly in particular region. the country will be divided into five regions – north, east, west, south and central. Licences would be issued for each region only. this would bring interior regions of the country on aviation map. government would provide some fiscal incentives to regional carriers in the form of lower airport charges and tax concessions on fuel etc. for complete information click on the link above... it has been seen that airlines r queing to take-off. bt, Govt. dont want ny further bleeding in the avaition sector, so it is nt giving ny new licences. Govt. is taking each application on case to case basis, checking their financial credentials...clearances r now been given to airlines deciding to operate regionally as a regional airline...the objective of this is to gv better connectivity to small cities n reducing the pressure frm bigger airports which r already overcrowded...many of the airlines waitin r --> Premier,
King Air,
Air Dravida,
EC Air
Omega Air
Star Aviation etc.
are waiting for clearance from the civil aviation ministry...these airlines will b asked to operate on regional airports...30-seaters and 50-seaters would be ideal for operations on such non-trunk routes.
